Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef, television personality in the United States as well as an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and her pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers simple, easy-to-learn techniques for the at-home cook on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell was a student and worked in the best New York restaurants. He has also competed in Iron Chef America and the culinary landscape of Italy. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. The Culinary Institute of America has sparked her interest in the management of restaurants after she graduated with an English/Communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was the place where I experienced my most memorable time in my life. I couldn't seem to get enough pleasure from the experience. After graduation, Burrell spent one year in Italy studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. The chef gained an knowledge of Italian food and culture while in Italy and this has affected her cooking style. Burrell has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten the lives of children facing difficulties. She also serves as an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador, where she is an advocate for juvenile diabetes awareness. She frequently travels around the United States in her position as both a mentor and guest speaker where she discusses her professional life and the joy of cooking. Anne says she was incredibly fortunate to be able to be able to share her passion for cooking with others.
