Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel and jazz in his distinctive style. Avery Sunshine's performances have been on Broadway and in festivals throughout Europe. She has also performed at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine's real name is Denise White. She hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her career in music by singing and playing the piano in the church. She went to Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her training within the Atlanta's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The single which featured her vocals Stalk You a House 12, came out only in Japan. The song has been remixed many times, and it is a mainstay in her live performance. Additionally, she was a part of The Fighting Temptations soundtrack. She became the primary piano player for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. In 2007, Grammy and Tony award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to be the director of choral in the production staged by Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine received national attention through her performances on four consecutive days during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was invited to perform in the Obama administration's 2009 inauguration.
